DungeonSwap Respawned!
“Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.” — Winston S. Churchill
Not all great things start smoothly. Success is a long journey and there are rough challenges along the way. The same predicament goes with the DungeonSwap game. Before launching the game, $DND has a strong 18-dollar value on July 26, 2021. However, due to some unforeseen circumstance that did not please most of the players on the game release, the value plummeted to an average of 2–3 dollars.
They say that the game is a casino type of game. This is not particularly true as the game was not intended to be that way. The players only experienced the strong token burning mechanism of the game to the point that the game was no longer profitable.
One major concern of crypto games is to balance the circulating supply of their tokens to sustain the game economy. Token burning mechanisms are implemented in order to control inflation. Because, if these safeguards are not properly applied, rest assured that the game will eventually be driven into a ‘bubble economy’. This financial crisis is rather hard to rectify when addressed on the process than pre-emptively. The developers of the game just need the right balance on their gas fees as well as this token burning mechanism, and adjust if necessary, depending on the current token price performance, to achieve a sustainable play to earn game.
DungeonSwap first launch was not failure. In fact, it is just the beginning of a journey to the top. The community provided tons of feedbacks and recommendations to develop the game further. Different opinions, perspectives, and idea suggestions sprung in the heat of a rough release. The developers and staffs of the game considers all of them and assure to revisit their game structure and model to satisfy the requisites of a play to earn game.
Most of the people when faced with such problem would panic and be pressured. They will most likely be disoriented and cannot think properly. However, this is not the case with the DungeonSwap team. They stayed strong despite the backlash and negative remarks from the community. They were not pressured to obey on the spot the demands of the community and instead took all the criticisms professionally.
What is most impressive is that they did not even close the Dungeons even if people are complaining about it. This is a smart move. In fact, this is the right thing to do. You do not have to close a perfectly working game with just an imbalance burning mechanism.
They leave as it is and provide announcements regarding the status of the game. They provide risk warnings and disclaimers to players who will continue to play. But the best of it is they declare a total relaunch!
On August 29, 2021, the DungeonSwap team called to all game supporters to be part of their Beta Testing. This is to evaluate the current play to earn design of the game and there are 4 phases.
1. Communication (September 7, 2021)
Emails will be sent to chosen qualified beta testers together with certain instructions to move forward as a beta tester.
2. Preparation (September 8–9, 2021)
A discord dedicated channel was opened for the chosen beta testers and Test Net BNBs, DNDs, as well as relics will be distributed.
3. Beta Test on BSC Test net (Around September 10, 2021)
Feedbacks will be consolidated for further development, improvement, and game tuning.
4. Launch P2E on BSC Main Net (Mid-September)
Official version 2 play to earn launching of DungeonSwap.
It has estimated that there are more than 300 beta testers. These game supporters are qualified and competitive people who will help the developers in improving the game to achieve the best play to earn quality.
The feedbacks and recommendations of the beta testers will surely be a great factor in determining the outcome of the version 2 of DungeonSwap. The testers can readily compare the difference since some of them are people who provided suggestions on the day of unexpected first release. They can effectively evaluate whether the game has achieved a harmonious balance between gas fees, token minting and burning, and other game features.
All suggestions, feedbacks, recommendations, and even criticisms are heard and applied. With all these efforts, the whole community can expect a better version of the game on their next relaunch.
DungeonSwap may have a rough start, but they did not waiver. They used this as inspiration to prove that they can make this game a great one. Imagine, relaunching a game in more than a month is not an easy feat. Considering the backlash and other things, DungeonSwap keeps their composure and focus on their work to bring us the better version of the game.
Let us commend them for not turning back on what they promised. Give them the credit and the recognition they duly deserved. Let us spread the word of their comeback and start reaching the moon again!
